Long Term Care Insurance has existed for almost 40 years. When Medicare was established, many insurance companies began marketing Long Term Care Insurance as a supplement that would cover things that Medicare didn’t and allow you to keep your assets. Today, its coverage has grown to include almost any condition and can stand apart from state sponsored programs. Like any other insurance policy, and Long Term Care policy requires monthly premiums for years until you require Long Term Care. At that point, you would file a claim and begin receiving benefits that would pay for your care.
