I am an agent that exclusively carries LTC insurance. FYI there are more than 100 companies offering this type of coverage. The top ten companies write more than 80% of all policies issued.

Some of the most reputable names in the business are GE Capital, Transamerica, Allianz, Fortis benefits (now owned by J. Hancock), J. Hancock, Travelers (now owned by GE Capital), CNA, UNUM, and AIG. All are rated A or better by A.M. Best. Other major players include Penn Treaty, Conseco Senior Health, Bankers Life (owned by Conseco).
