How many claims are made on home owner's insurance policies? Do you suppose that 60% of homeowner's policies make claims? Do you think that 6 out of 10 homeowners make claims of $100,000+ on their homeowner's policies? The actual number is probably more like 1 out of 100. Yet it still makes sense to own homeowner's insurance just in case you are that 1 out of 100. Doesn't it?

The same is true for long term care insurance.
