Moral of the story, David, DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK. Same goes for agents. Stop relying on rating agencies for a shortcut in due dilligence for your policyholders. If you can't read a company's financial statement or annual report, get help from one of your peers that can. You will be better served and agents will better serve their clients and possibly avoid those nasty "hurt feelings of betrayal".
