: A new advertising slogan??? So we have all seen the response from UNUM's blue suits. What would you expect? To me, the broadcast is believable. Let's see some evidence to the contrary. The pres. said so himself." As a business, they are under pressure to perform." Maybe, they should change their business model and shy away so much from group underwriting. It is only logical that the largest DI issuer has the most cases in litigation. This will undoubtedly affect lapses and future premiums and claims paying ability for DI and LTC. Consider other companies until more is truely known.

Larry, I don't have any idea if the "Spade is a Spade" or not...at least not yet. However, we must look back in history when UNUM/PROVIDENT both almost closed their doors due to the runs they had on the bank with DI claims, due purely to their "EGOTISTICAL" marketing/underwriting blunders of over exposure. It's what eventually drove those two companies together.

I, for one, cannot get comfortable with UNUM/Prov's indemnity concept whereby company trainers and field employees preach to agents that you can incur only ONE DAY of qualifying care and be paid a full monthly benefit with no other care received in that monthly period.

IT WONT FLY FOR LONG. THERE ARE ONLY 100 PENNIES IN A DOLLAR, FOLKS!!!!!

It's being sold like that EVERY DAY and most experienced agents in this discussion board know it.

It's time to be realistic, folks. Their is no tooth fairy!!!
