Anthony, several of my associates around the country are trying to evaluate the credibility or the group that sponsors the CLTC distance learning designation. A couple Eldercare attorney friends of mine are envolved in the evaluation at the highest level. Most professional insurance designations are the product of and specifically sanctioned the industry associations and companies. The CLTC program was started by and controlled one individual, its founder. I do not beleive it is a non-profit organization. The required materials look fine but the verdict is still out as to why the insurance industry has not embraced the CLTC group as an educator and why the continuing education requirements are not necessarily approved by the industry. I do however congratulate any agent that imposes continued education from whatever source.
