'Long term care insurance' is a complex issue because it's in the interest of the medical community, the insurance industry, and goverment regulators to make it so. It's not complex to someone who refuses to participate.

The establishment will keep Grandpa subsisting as long as pharmologically possible.

Just like your Grandpa, I never want to be forgotten in a nursing home, so I put it in writing to make it legal. It's legal in any state to refuse medication, this is a free country.

I never mentioned suicide, but you INFERRED that's what I meant. More bait and switch, and then confuse and obfuscate the issues. Don't confuse the populace into thinking it's an either / or proposition. Either buy your insurance or suffer the consequences.

Wrong, I've told you how to make the decision for yourself while you're competent to do it. See a lawyer and ask them to draw it up, then have it witnessed and copies given to everyone. And make sure everyone close to you understands your wishes.

As for how long after I no longer receive any medications (except pain medication) do I expect it to take me to die? Not very long. But in any case, a far shorter period than those concentration camp victims I see in the nursing homes.
