Whose choice is it?

My grandpa always said "I don't want to go to a nursing home and BE FORGOTTEN".
10 years ago, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease AND Alzheimers.
Four years later, the diseases matured to the point that his 80 year old body was healthy, but his brain wouldn't allow him to think clearly. 18 months ago, my grandmother had to finally let go of him. She admitted him to the 'Old Folks Home'. He realizes where he is and doesn't like it at all.
Again, he is totally healthy, not on medication. He cannot get through most days without a diaper change. Due to his age, his bones are getting fragile, and recently he broke his hip in a fall.
I guess that 'Concerned' is satisfied with this lifestyle. I wish this person good luck, but moreso, I pray that his family will understand when he may lose his mind and wander off.
It happens to a lot of people, but then again, it doesn't happen to everyone. If Grandpa could think long enough today that suicide is the way out, I still don't think that he would do it. He is surely a pain in the ass to the nursing home staff because he tries their patience every day. That is not their fault, but at the same time Grandma can no longer bath him, feed him, walk/push him, entertain him by herself. When God is ready to take Grandpa then it will be over. Until that time, we will still visit him in the NURSING HOME, where he does get good care.
