calpers LTC

I work for a city in California and have calpers benefits. We recently got fliers re: LTC through calpers. This is all new to me and now I'm strongly considering getting LTC. I am 44 and have a history of cancer by am fine now for 7 years. Would it be difficult to obtain LTC through a company other than calpers (which does not discriminate against prior medical history)? Calpers has such great benefits in general and they are no-profit. Feedback would be greatly appreciated!
