With all due respect, Rachel, I can't just allow you to make such an inaccurate post without correcting it.

You did say some correct things: Yes, the TIAA CREF long term care insurance policy is very highly priced. My clients have told me that it is priced anywhere from 25% to 80% higher than policies I've been able to find for them. And, Yes, the John Hancock policy is a very good policy and it is a very good company. However, you were incorrect regarding the financial ratings. TIAA CREF has the highest ratings from every ratings company. Only TIAA, State Farm and AIG get the highest ratings from all 5 of the ratings companies. John hancock does have very high ratings, but they are a little lower than TIAA CREF.

Please do your homework. And, please, don't turn this very valuable consumer bulletin board into a distasteful commercial for yourself and your company.

Scott A. Olson, CLTC

: : Check out TIAA-CREF. They are offering their policies to all residents of some states (restricted in some states).

: As a LTC specialist, I strongly suggest to stay away from group plans such at TIAA-CREFF. Group plans like that could be much more expensive than an individual plan. I can tell you for sure that JOhn Hancock ALWAYS beats Tiaa for the same benefits, not to mention that JH is much more highly rated and very secure in an economic downturn--like we are in now.
