Long Term Care
Long Term Care is a concept that through social and medical research has now been defined and categorized as the inability of someone to perform the daily living skills we all take for granted. If you cannot walk down your stairs, you will have great difficulty properly feeding your self because you cannot get to your kitchen. If you cannot carry out proper hygiene, eventually you will more likely suffer from an ailment brought on by poor hygiene.
The above are just a few examples of the defined daily living skills that make up long term care. The support needed for an impaired person to carry out these activities can be given in a skilled facility such as a nursing home, or in the home through regular visitation by a professional care giver.
Here is some discussion on the elimination period which is important because during this period you will have to provide long term care out of pocket.
