Long-Term Care with Medical Problems
Often when you apply for long term care insurance you may encounter difficulty being underwritten, or accepted for the policy, due to a present or even past medical condition. This is because the underwriters at that company feel you are too high of a risk, and will eminently need care. The fundamental issue here is you are looking for the proper protection, but the carrier feels you are already suffering from some of the maladies the policy will cover.
Many consumers have has success by working with their physicians to conduct more extensive exams and then document that a past problem has been completely cured and you do not pose a greater risk of recurrence than any other health person.
